Terms of care

Last updated September 4, 2026

These terms describe how enrollment, tuition, and related fees work at Brightside Generation, a licensed in-home daycare operated by Chloa and Tim in Shawnee and Lenexa, Kansas. By joining the waitlist, enrolling a child, or paying through the parent portal, you agree to these terms.

Our services

Brightside Generation provides weekday in-home childcare for children 18 months and up. Care is offered Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., unless we agree otherwise in writing.

The home address is shared privately with enrolled families. It is not published on the website.

Waitlist and enrollment

Adding a child in the parent portal places them on our waitlist. A spot is not guaranteed until we approve the child and you complete enrollment checkout.

When a spot opens, we notify you by email. You enroll and pay tuition (and any applicable fees) through the parent portal. Until checkout is complete, the spot may be offered to another family.

Fees and billing

Tuition is billed monthly per enrolled child through Stripe. Optional add-ons (such as diapering) and one-time fees may also apply.

Typical fees include:

  • Monthly tuition for active enrollment
  • A one-time enrollment fee due with first tuition checkout (unless we waive or discount it)
  • An annual fee due on each enrollment anniversary (unless we waive or discount it)
  • Optional monthly diapering, if you choose it

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. You manage cards and invoices from the parent portal. Keeping a valid payment method on file is required for continued enrollment.

If a payment fails, we may pause or end care until the balance is resolved. We will try to reach you using the contact information on your account.

Cancellation

You may cancel enrollment from the parent portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless we agree to another date. Care and tuition continue through that period.

We may end enrollment immediately for non-payment, safety concerns, or if we determine the arrangement is no longer a fit. If we end care mid-period for reasons other than a policy violation or non-payment, we will discuss a fair credit or refund for unused paid days.

Refunds

Refunds are limited, as is common for childcare enrollment:

  • Monthly tuition: generally not refunded for unused days within a paid period after you cancel at period end (you retain care through the paid period).
  • Enrollment fee: non-refundable once paid, including if you later cancel or do not start, unless we cancel the spot before care begins for reasons on our side.
  • Annual fee: non-refundable once paid for the anniversary year it covers, unless we permanently close the program before that year is meaningfully underway.
  • Failed or duplicate charges: corrected as a refund or credit after we confirm the error.

Discounts and waivers

We may waive or discount enrollment fees, annual fees, or tuition for a specific child. Those adjustments are at our discretion and do not change these terms for other fees or future periods unless we say so.

Parent responsibilities

Provide accurate child and contact information, keep emergency contacts current, and follow drop-off and pickup expectations we share with enrolled families.

Tell us promptly about absences, illness, allergies, custody or pickup restrictions, and anything else that affects safe care.

Changes

We may update these terms as the program grows. Material changes will be shared by email or in the parent portal. Continued enrollment after notice means you accept the updated terms.
