Respect
For people, for materials, and for the room we share. Children learn it by being treated that way first.

Why this home
Chloa & Tim·Shawnee and Lenexa, Kansas
We have a passion for cultivating positivity and success in the world, and what better place to start than with children.
Larger centers are built for the group. A home is not. Here, kids receive specialized instruction and care — a nurturing environment designed around each student, not a classroom ratio.
We want every child to leave with a love of learning they can carry through school. And we teach the skills that last longer than any lesson plan: respect, community, responsibility, and independence. That includes helping children work through emotions and interactions — productively, and positively.
The rhythm
Weekdays, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Predictable enough to feel safe. Flexible enough to follow the child in front of us.
01 · 7:30
A calm welcome. Coats, check-ins, and time to settle before the day opens up.
02 · Morning
Specialized instruction mixed with open play, stories, and time outdoors when weather allows.
03 · Midday
Unhurried meals and a real rest. Homes keep a pace centers rarely can.
04 · Afternoon
Everyday work: sharing space, naming feelings, helping, and trying again. Independence, practiced.
05 · 5:30
A clear handoff. What we noticed, what they loved, and how the day went.
What we instill
01
For people, for materials, and for the room we share. Children learn it by being treated that way first.
02
A small group learns to notice each other. We practice belonging, not just parallel play.
03
Jobs a child can actually do — cleanup, care for things, follow-through. Competence builds confidence.
04
We coach, then we step back. The goal is a child who can try, stall, and try again.
