Privacy policy

Last updated September 4, 2026

This policy explains what information Brightside Generation collects when you use our website and parent portal, and how we use it. We handle family data carefully — only what we need to provide care and run enrollment.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • Contact details from inquiries (name, email, phone, message)
  • Account information when you sign in (via Clerk)
  • Parent profile details you provide (name, phone, email)
  • Child information you enter (name, date of birth, notes you share)
  • Additional family contacts and emails you add for pickup or notices
  • Enrollment and billing status (including fee settings and payment history references)
  • Technical data such as basic server logs needed to operate the site

Payments

Card payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Stripe processes charges for tuition, enrollment fees, annual fees, and related add-ons according to their privacy policy.

How we use information

We use family information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and manage the waitlist
  • Provide daycare and communicate about a child’s day and enrollment
  • Process payments, invoices, fee notices, and cancellations
  • Email parents and staff about enrollment, billing, and care updates
  • Improve and secure the website and parent portal

Who we share with

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate, including:

  • Clerk — authentication and account access
  • Stripe — payments and billing portal
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Our database host — storing enrollment records

Children’s information

We collect information about children only from parents or guardians for childcare and enrollment. We do not knowingly create accounts for children, and we do not use children’s information for marketing.

Retention

We keep enrollment and contact records while a family is active and for a reasonable period afterward for licensing, tax, and operational needs. You can ask us to update or remove information that is no longer required.

Your choices

You can update profile and child details in the parent portal. For access, correction, or deletion requests beyond what the portal allows, email us. Some records may need to be retained for legal or licensing reasons.
